The „Hungarian National Roma Platform” consultation continued on Tuesday
On Tuesday, the Hungarian National Roma Platform continued its country tour: this time the consultation event visited Kerecsend and Heves County, which was opened by Iván Sörös, Head of Department, representing Katalin Victor Langerné, Deputy State Secretary for Social Inclusion of the Ministry of Interior.
Other speakers giving opening speeches at the video conference included dr. Attila Simon Juhász, President of the Heves County Assembly, László Sári, Mayor of Kerecsend, and Géza Barkóczi, President of the Heves County Roma Nationality Self-Government.
The online presentations provided the participants with useful professional knowledge: the recent developments of the social inclusion policy were presented by Iván Sörös, Head of Department at the Deputy State Secretariat of the Ministry of Interior, whereas the role of the Directorate General for Social Inclusion in the inclusion policy was presented by Pál Andó, Head of the Northern Hungarian Directorate for Social Inclusion.
Dávid Kiss, a professional staff member of the Hungarian Charity Service of the Order of Malta, spoke about the long-term development programme of the emerging settlements.
Then Ildikó Szabó-Fazekas from the Deputy State Secretariat, spoke about the planned social inclusion programmes for the period 2021-2027.
Afterwards, in the section titled “Those who live and work among us in the county”, presentations were given on local good practices: first, Lászlóné Román, Head of the “Hawks” Study Hall [Sólymok Tanoda][1] in Kerecsend, who detailed the implementation of the municipal kindergarten programme. Finally, Bernadett Mohos, the professional leader of the “Tiny Feet” Sure Start Children’s House [Apró Lábak Biztos Kezdet Gyerekház] in Kerecsend, reported on their work.
