Yesterday, the Hungarian National Roma Platform continued its country tour: this time the consultation event virtually visited Fulókércs and Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County, and it was opened by Iván Sörös, Head of Department, representing Katalin Victor Langerné, Deputy State Secretary for Social Inclusion of the Ministry of Interior.
The online consultation also included welcoming speeches by Félix Farkas, Roma nationality advocate, and Gergely Szabó, Vice President of the Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County Assembly.
Once again, leaders and professionals working to help disadvantaged people shared valuable professional experiences. Iván Sörös, Head of the Department of at the Deputy State Secretariat presented the latest developments in social inclusion policy, followed by Pál Andó, Head of Northern Hungarian Directorate for Social Inclusion, who presented the role of the Directorate General for Social Inclusion in social inclusion policy.
Dávid Kiss, a professional staff member of the Hungarian Charity Service of the Order of Malta, spoke about the long-term development programme of the emerging settlements.
Then Ildikó Szabó-Fazekas from the Deputy State Secretariat, spoke about the planned social inclusion programmes for the period 2021-2027.
Afterwards, in the section titled “Those who live and work among us in the county” several local good practices had been presented: Erzsébet Bodnárné Király, the professional leader of child welfare project in Encs district, detailed the implementation of the “Leaning over to the little ones to rise” – Child Chance Programme [„Kicsikhez hajolni, hogy magasodjál” – Gyerekesély Program] in Fulókércs.
The representative of the Municipality of Fulókércs informed the participants about the implementation of the Complex Housing Programme aimed at improving segregated living conditions.
